Denotes the asymptotic equivalence of two functions or sequences. Change legend item name for proportional symbols I'm using proportional symbols in a map I've created, and I don't want the legend items to be named as the columns in my attribute table, since they are all weird abbreviations and I am creating a final map for a report. Often used for denoting other types of similarity, for example, matrix similarity or similarity of geometric shapes. Standard notation for an equivalence relation.
